The roller construction and manufacture contains several unique features (patent pending) that produce significant improvements over traditional rollers. The MEC roller is ideally suited for applications requiring a corrosion resistant roller that has low noise characteristics. Typical applications include ports, coal handling prep plants and installations that are located close to populated areas or operate in corrosive environments. Features and benefits • The MEC delivers a roller that is low noise with reduced vibration. • The roller tube is mechanically located and fixed to the end cap - the risk of separation of the end cap from the tube is eliminated. • Efficient Sandvik sealing provides years of trouble free operation with a low roller drag. • Non metallic end cap is resistant to corrosion and weathering. • When fitted with aluminium tubing the risks associated with manual handling are reduced. • Dimensionally identical to standard rollers of the same diameter / bearing combination. • The shell to end cap transition provides additional protection for the belting. General specifications The MEC roller is available in the roller series detailed on the following pages. Any standard Sandvik roller of the nominated series can be manufactured as an MEC design. Available roller series The MEC roller is currently available in series 30, 33, 35, 41, 45, 46, 54, 55, 56 & 57 There are options for steel and aluminium roller shells. Additional diameters and bearing combinations are being developed and will be released in the near future. Available Enhancements Available accessories include: • End shields and rubber lagging.
