| SANDVIK HARD MATERIALS IN BRIEF | The Sandvik Group, established in 1862 and headquartered in Sandviken, is one of Sweden's largest export companies with more than 300 wholly owned subsidiaries and representation in 130 countries.The Group has annual sales of SEK 55 billion, with 38,000 employees. More than 90% of sales are to customers outside Sweden. Sandvik is highly research oriented. Investments in R&D related to new products and processes amount to approximately 4% of invoiced sales. THE SANDVIK GROUP The Sandvik Group's operations are based on three core business areas: Sandvik Tooling, Sandvik Materials Technology and Sandvik Mining and Construction. Sandvik Hard Materials, a part of Sandvik Tooling, supplies a wide range of cemented carbide products from manufacturing plants around the world. FULLY FINISHED TOOLS Sandvik Hard Materials' specialties include full/ finished tools such as carbide rotary cutters for the non-wovens industry, can tooling for the can industry and rolls for the steel industry. ENGINEERED COMPONENTS Cemented carbide is often the only material that can satisfactorily withstand wear in addition to deformation, impact, heavy load, high pressure, corrosion and high temperature. In this area, Sandvik Hard Materials provides the industry with carbide components such as seal rings, bearings, pistons, valves and nozzles. CEMENTED CARBIDE TOOL BLANKS Sandvik Hard Materials supplies the toolmaking industry with blanks or semifinished products for cutting and forming metals, composite materials, PCB industry, wood, bricks, concrete and rockTool blanks are available in the form of rods, saw tips, drill tips, discs and inserts in designs and dimensions based on industry standards. | |||||||||
