Know-how and processDesignNew tools are designed according to your specifications and process requirements. The process is then optimised by our experiencedengineering team.Mechanics IConstructing the tool base bodyThe quality of the tool base body greatly influences accuracy, wear resistance, the number of possible replatings and thethermal stability of the tool (i.e. it has a good heat gradientcoefficient) and is extremely important if the nickel bondedgrain is to adhere properly. Run out and flatness errors causea variation in grinding pressure and consequently poor wear resistance. The entity of this variation in grinding pressure is inrelation to the mass, the speed and the entity of the runouterror. This is why the tool base body is always hardened andground to very strict tolerances.Mechanics IIIn high precision galvanic plating, it is necessary to payparticular attention to the construction of the auxiliary toolingand equipment. These high precision components have tosatisfy a whole series of demands and so they are designedand constructed according to the actual grinding wheel thatthey will mount. The galvanic processBy depositing nickel, precision galvanic plating ensures thatthe grain bonds extremely well. When using the finished grin-ding wheel the coolant will therefore flow with ease and chipremoval will be more efficient, factors which influence thebehaviour and wear resistance of the grinding wheel. It is possible to guarantee a stable process only if top quality mate-rial are used and if the galvanic baths are constantly monito-red. All of these factors are basic and necessary elements butthey are combined carefully thanks to the know-how and experience of our engineering team in order to guarantee you a high quality finished product.Mechanics IIIThe last step in the production of grinding wheels is the “touchdressing” phase. The result of this determines the stability ofthe grinding process and wear resistance of the wheelitself. Touch dressing also makes it possible to further optimiseand adapt the grit diameter, the specific removal rate and thesurface roughness.Grinding tests that have been carried out in collaboration withour customers in fact show that from the very first test piecethe power absorbed and the surface roughness obtained arewithin the required tolerance ranges. |
