They're also ideal for chemical reactions, polymerization, crystallization, and other demanding mixing tasks where the material can reach extremes of heat and cold, and can also reach several million centipoise in viscosity. The twin screws and paddles ensure a thorough mix, with no dead zones that could degrade the finished product. The co-rotating shafts and close clearances between both paddles and between the paddles and barrel walls provide efficient uniform mixing in less time than conventional mixers. These same tight tolerances also provide self-cleaning action. Key features include: Models available with throughput capacity ranging from as little as 50 kg to as great as 100 tons per hour. Rugged design capable of consistently processing high shear materials Extrusion available via continuous mono-screw, twin-screw, or gear-pump Self-cleaning design Venting port for degasing during mixing cycle Wide range of paddle arrangements available to meet specific application needs Choice of construction materials to provide abrasion and corrosion resistance Variable speed mechanical or hydraulic drives Modular design enables easy customization Designed for easy maintenance and repair Why the UCP Series is Better The UCP Series continuous mixing System is ideal for high-volume applications that would have previously required multiple processes in batch mixing systems. The co-rotating screw and paddles arrangement ensures a consistent, homogeneous mixture, while generating the shear forces necessary for high-viscosity materials. The system features an innovative two-way action to ensure complete and uniform constant mixing. The rotation of the two paddle assemblies provides a continuous variation in volume between the mixing elements and the barrels in any given area of the unit. At the same time, the action of the paddles also creates an alternate compression and suction of the products, ensuring continuous mixing. The result? Unequalled mixing quality.
