olid F14 has a 6 cylinder engine and hydrostatic transmission that gives the forwarder a smooth and adaptable drive system. The operator can, via the com- puterised control system IQAN, control the machine’s movements with great precision even in diffi cult terrain. An electronic quick-shifting with adjustable speed interval gives increased safety at low speed. The cab, which is ex- tremely spacious and has good visibility in the immediate sur- roundings, is ergonomically designed with all the manoeuvring functions well placed around the operator. The air conditioner with ACC has a newly de- veloped fi lter system on the fresh air intake with a large fi lter area that gives good air exchange and also fi lters re-circulated air. The side mounted cooling system for the engine and transmis- sion has a large capacity and the temperature decides the speed of the thermostat con- trolled hydraulic driven fan, which means the cooling effect is fully independent of the engine speed. The radiator can be swivelled out of the engine compartment to facilitate cleaning. The separate hydraulic oil cooler also has a thermostat controlled fan where the fan speed is governed by the oil temperature. The forwarder has 700-wheels, yet the com- pact slew ring journalled, gear driven bogies mean it is not more than 275 cm wide. The wagon has adjustable, bolted bunks, which allows extra bunks to be easily fi tted.

or rational log-hauling in intensive fi nal felling, where transport distance can be very long, the forwarder should offer good stability and a high load capa- city as well as be equipped with a power- ful and fast loader. The perfect descrip- tion of a Solid F14, which has a stable chassis, large load area with a low centre of gravity and is available with optional wagon lengths. The forwarder is proven to be fast and easy to operate and has a powerful and fl exible loader.
