Description and FunctionPrinciple of operationElectrodes are electrically conducting rods which can beused for the monitoring and control of filling levels. Electrodes work on the principle of induction in connec- tion with level controllers (see pages 202 to 204). If the electrodes are immersed in a electrically conductingliquid, a control current flows through the liquid. By means of this control current, a high voltage relay with a potential-free change-over contact will be activated via a measurement lignal amplifier. The signal current circuit is isolated from the main power, and is operated using protective low voltage. In order to prevent electrolytic action at the electrodes, the latter are operated with alternating voltage. Depending on the type of electrode and level controller used, these controllers are suitable for:-maximum level alarms-low level alarms -full and empty pumping -control with latching (self-locking) -opening / closing valves with latching and dry-run protection Use Electrode controllers can be used in electrically conduc-ting liquids such as, for example, milk, fruit juice, beer, water, waste water, acids, alkalis, etc.Applications-Food manufacturers -Compressor construction -Construction of air conditioning systems -Heating systems (heating boilers) -Coffee machine construction -Water treatment -etc.Advantages-no mechanical components -Compact construction -Independent of specific weight-Suitable for different pressures and temperatures, depending on model -Very efficient price / performance ratio 144 |
