EMI/RFI Components

Since 1954, Richco’s innovative approach in the fixing and fastenings industry has enabled us to maintain our excellentreputation for the design and manufacture of standard and custom designed highly specialised components.Over the past 10 years, the integration of electronics has advanced tremendously, making ASIC’s IC’s andMicroprocessors smaller and more complex. Compared to now out-dated analogue electronics, most modern electronics run on digital signals. Analogue electronics were large and worked on low frequencies, which were not so susceptible to noise. The integration of electronics using digital signalling is only possible when using high frequencies, which are more susceptible to noise. For this reason, ferrites are necessary to filter unwanted signals, such as EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference), to ensure the smooth operation of electronic applications and any electronic devices operating within the same vicinity. In today’s modern business climate where signal interference and prevention is crucial, it is important to select the right type of EMI suppression product for use in your application. Richco’s aim is to give you total peace of mind that your application is protected from EMI interference at all times.Richco offers a wide range of ferrite cores to solve all your EMI/RFI problems. Our range extends from solid, split ferritefor round and ribbon cable, to Surface Mound Devices (SMD) Ferrite chips, beads and inductors. The ferrite materials exhibit magnetic properties which are dependent upon the frequency at which they operate. The suppression of EMI has become a major concern in the electronics industry, where it is now common that EMI suppression ferrites are often used as two terminal circuit elements. Richco’s ferrite range is manufactured in a variety of materials to suppress EMI/RFI interference or a wide range of cable diameters and PCB configurations. EMI is now strictly regulated by law throughout the world, where all companies have a responsibility to meet their regions EMI directive. Typical Applications Common Terminology Associatedwith EMI Suppression Ferrites ?Automotive?Television Brown Goods?Industrial washing machines?Medical Equipment?Musical Instruments?Electronic Office Equipment?Telecommunications Equipment?Gaming Machines?General Electronics ?Windings - Number of cable/wire turns?Impedance – Level at which the ferrite absorbs anyunwanted noise?Frequency – Operating Signal Common Ferrite Material ?Manganese zinc (MnZn)?Nickel zinc (NiZn)
