Plate and Bar Heat Exchangers

Technology RAAL “plate and bar” heat exchangers are entirely manufactured of aluminium alloys with high resistance at physical and mechanical stress and also corrosion, “long-life” materials that ensure high lasting products in severe exploitation conditions. RAAL is always among the first companies in the use of new materials because its good relationship with its suppliers and due to the scientific consultancy it gets. The components of the cores are easy to manufacture and they are available in a wide range of types and sizes. This ensures to the “plate and bar” technology an exceptional flexibility when choosing the structures. The components bonding is made by controlled atmosphere brazing in latest generation furnaces and by MIG or WIG welding, with mechanical or manual welding equipment according to the ASME and PED standards. The coolers can be coated with epoxy-poliestheric powders in electrostatic field. Designing & Testing The coolers sizing and the theoretical calculations of their performances are made with RAAL’s own calculation programs, programs that are a consequence of fifteen years of experience in this domain. For heat exchangers developing RAAL uses the newest 3D designing systems which lead to a shorter time for designing and assimilating the new models in production. RAAL has the necessary equipmentfor checking and testing the coolers. The coolers can be tested regarding their heat exchange performances and fluidodynamic characteristics with the help of a wind tunnel which is equipped with performant equipment for measurement and control. RAAL R&D Dept can also make the following tests:
x thermal shock test
x cycle pressure test
x burst pressure test
x cleaning test RAAL co-operates with different research institutes and universities for research and development projects.
