Datasheet SPCprocessLink 2.0
The Software SPCprocessLink collects the process data from the PLCs and other interfaces of the machines and stores it in the Q-DAS® ASCI I Transfer Format. Online monitoring and visualization of the process can be made with procella® monitoring. The collected data can be stored with the Q-DAS® Database Upload to a centralized database (Oracle, MS SQL-Server) for documentation purposes, allowing complex data selection and evaluation with q-STAT®.
Advantages with SPCprocessLink:
S Connection of various machines without programming.
S Easy configuration and setup.
S Changes in the configuration, for example adding more parts, characteristics or K-fields is possible without programming.
S Supports all additional data fields as defined in the Q-DAS® Data Transfer Format: date/time, events, batch number, nest, operator, machine, process parameter, gage, order and text.
S Generates the Definition Data
Files (DFD)
S Existing test plans (DFD, DFQ) can be imported during setup.
S Feedback to the process on limits violations or errors.
S Detection of variants with automatic generation of test plans (DFD).
S I ndependent from the manufacturers of the communication devices and PLCs through the OPC (OLE for Process Control) standard interface.
S Quick and cost-saving data acquisition solution.
Technical Features:
• Data acquisition conforming to the OPC Data Access Spec. Version 1.0a, 2.0 and 3.0.
• Data Access I nterface tested as full compliant to the OPC
Specification.
• Compliance with the Q-DAS® ASCI I Transfer Format: DFD,
02/2004
DFX, DFQ, and Counter Mode
for the Q-DAS® Database
Upload.
• Q-DAS® Certificate for the
output interface.
• Event driven or periodical data acquisition.
• Data fields of the Q-DAS® Data
Format (K-keys for values, characteristics or parts) can be linked with online process values.
• Variants can differ in number and properties of their characteristics and K-fields.
• High performance software developed with Microsoft Visual C++ using Multithreading Win32 Technology.
• High Stability with software components from leading automation software manufacturers, based on the operating systems Windows® NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP / Windows®
Server 2003.
• Easy installation using Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) technology
Languages:
The user interface supports English and German by default. Additional languages will be available on request.
Requirements:
• PCwith Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP / Server 2003 (actual
Service Pack) with communication ports (RS232, Ethernet or industrial field bus cards) depending on the device to be connected.
• Software Driver (OPC Server) for the data source (e.g. for Allen-Bradley DeviceNet, Siemens MPI or Profibus, Ethernet, TCPIP, RS232...). See a list of available drivers on the internet at www.opcfoundation.org.
For the rare case that no driver is available, this can be developed by us or a third-party developer.
Performance considerations:
SPCprocessLink and most of the OPC Servers are designed with Microsoft Visual C++ to run event driven in a multithreading mode and are optimized for speed. There are no special requirements regarding the performance of the PC hardware. I f there are other programs with high performance
demands running on the same PC, a faster hardware may be necessary to avoid loss of data.
Networking:
To save costs for hardware and maintenance, SPCprocessLink can be installed in a LAN (Local Area Network). The networking features can be realized on different levels:
S Data acquisition for many machines (Q-DAS® Parts) simultaneously and independently from each other.
S Acquisition of measured values for one piece or characteristic from different data sources (devices)
S Access to remote PC's using the OPC client / server technology (DCOM, TCP/IP).
S Access to remote data sources using the network protocols of the device drivers: TCP/IP, FTP, Telnet.
S Using hardware interface converters (like RS232 -> Ethernet).
Plug & Play
On projects with controllers like Siemens S7, all process variables defined in the PLC can be imported to SPCprocessLink with only a few mouse clicks. The symbols (names) and data types are also imported . This saves time and avoids errors, especially on large projects with many devices and measure points.
I nstallation:
On request we also deliver the whole solution including the installation and configuration of the software and communication hardware with training.
