FIRST FOR PURE WATER

Pretreated feedwater enters the integral break tank via a prefilter which protects the reverse osmosis membrane from particulate contamination. Built-in high pressure pumps on each stream pressurise the water to the spirally wound polyamide membrane. The water which passes through the membrane is purified (permeate) eg 98% of dissolved salts are removed and the remainder (concentrate) flushes the contaminants to drain. The purified water (permeate) from the Elite is then piped to a storage reservoir or, for the direct feed model, to the distribution ringmain. Unused permeate is returned to the Elite and reprocessed. The twin stream facility enables continuous production of purified water during periods of maintenance and cleaning.
