CONTROL SIGNAL INTERFACE IOMAX ADAPTER MODULE MAXp User’s Manual 4-9 4.7. IOMAX ADAPTER MODULE The optional IOMAX is an adapter module designed to provide easy connection for each signal of the MAXp. It incorporates a three row terminal block and some on-board filters. It is used with two 10 foot shielded cables to connect to the MAXp via the 120-pin and 26-pin I/O connectors. The +5VDC on the IOMAX is supplied by the MAXp and is protected by a resettable fuse. This supply voltage is intended to be utilized with accessories used in conjunction with the MAXp such as sensors, motor driver modules, etc. and supports a maximum current of 0.5 amps for these purposes. If the fuse detects an over current situation (such as an external short circuit), the supply will shut down. It can be re-activated by powering down the MAXp, ensuring the over current situation has been removed, and by powering the MAXp back up again after 3 seconds. As the fuse is a semiconductor device, it never has to be replaced and requires no maintenance.
