Published 07.23.08 PRECO WORLDWIDE LOCATIONS www.precoinc.com AUTOMATED OPTICAL REGISTRATION Cut-to-print accuracy is diffi cult to achieve with large, multicavity dies on a mechanical press because it is diffi cult to compensate for print distortion when cutting an entire sheet, due to variable screen stretch and substrate distortion during the ink curing process. A die with fewer cavities can be used with a Preco high speed system. This will produce the same or greater amount of fi nished parts with less die costs, reduce setup and make-ready times and provide greater accuracy and fewer part rejects. Patented Floating Bolster allows tooling to move into exact position prior to activating press stroke in X-Y and X-Y-Ř registration systems. PATENTED FLOATING BOLSTER FULL SHEET VS. PRECO METHOD CCD MACHINE VISION REGISTRATION FIDUCIALS • Standard systems accurate up to ±.025mm (.001”). Tighter tolerances are possible using special software and hardware modifi cations. • Capable of precise registration in all three axes. • Ideal for high-resolution applications: membrane switches, RFID, fl ex circuits and high-quality graphic overlays. • Press systems register off any target. Tolerance range is programmable for increased speed or accuracy. X-Registration Ř-Registration Y-Registration Using fi ber optic or CCD technology, Preco’s X-Y-Ř control systems digitally transmit information to our unique fl oating bolster*, moving tooling into position for a perfect cut, every time. *The fl oating bolster will reduce maximum material web width.
