FRAME 7FA+e 1st, 2nd, 3rd STAGE BLADES Pratt & Whitney - Improved Design - Extending the Service Life of Your Parts Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) has designed the rotat-ing components for the hot gas path of the Frame 7FA+e gas turbine. The designs incorporate Pratt & Whitney's extensive high temperature experience to provide the customer with improved total life-cycle costs. Pratt & Whitney has improved upon the OEM offering by designing a part that minimizes oxidation, creep and metal temperature; ultimately extending part life and reducing operating costs. Pratt & Whitney 7FA+e 1st Stage Blade Design Advantages Include: • PWA 1437™ directionally solidified alloy and PWA 264™ Thermal Barrier Coating system provide improved creep and oxidation life. • Improved cooling distribution reduces peak metal temperature. • Trailing edge undercut to alleviate trailing edge cooling hole cracking. • Cooled platform to resolve cracking for high hours and starts users. (Corner Box Operations) Pratt & Whitney 7FA+e 2nd Stage Blade Design Advantages Include: • PWA 1432™ equiaxed alloy and PWA 286™ metallic coating system provide improved creep and oxidation life. • Tip shroud 3D contouring and modified cutter tooth further improves shroud life to meet 72,000 hour cumulative life. • Cooling distribution improved and peak temperatures reduced through additional trailing edge cooling holes - reducing trailing edge creep, while not changing total internal cooling flow. Pratt & Whitney 7FA+e 3rd Stage Blade Design Advantages Include: • PWA 1432™ equiaxed alloy and Chromide coating system provide improved creep and corrosion life. • Tip shroud 3D contouring and modified cutter tooth further improves shroud life to meet 72,000 hour cumulative life.
