| There are nine common types of power problems. See details on the graph on the left. The 3-5-9 concept will tell you what types of problems you can avoid with which solutions, and in which environment each solution is the most useful. This is a big help when you're assessing your protection needs. Series 3 for non-critical applications Basic solutions to protect non-critical hardware and data against three of the nine power problems. These UPSs operate in standby mode. Series 5 for higher protection level Intermediate solutions for office environment and servers featuring good communication options. These UPSs operate in line-interactive mode and provide protection against the five most common power problems.
