More on Core Backlight Technologies FFL In early 2000's, the backlight technology FFL, a slim and flat light source, was introduced to the market by Delta Optoelectronics Inc. in Taiwan. Its primary advantages are long operating lifetime and design of mercury-free. FFL has longer lifetimes (100,000 hours) and better color reproduction and light uniformity when compared with the conventional CCFL.
