Displacement to 200 µm Sub-nm Resolution Low Cost Flat Design Disk translators belong to thegroup of bimorph piezo actua- tors (see “Tutorial: Piezoelec-trics in Positioning” section fordescription of design princi- ple). P-286 to P-289 translators are high-resolution industrial actuators for static and dynamic applica- tions providing fast response and sub-nanometer resolution.Compared to stack translators,disk translators provide a rela- tively large travel range (up to 200 µm) in an extremely small package. The P-286 can be at-tached to a flat surface with the outer ring. The translator ex- pands via the central tapped connector. P-288 and P-289 are double-disk constructionswhere the expansion occurs between the two facing tapped connectors.
