| | | The CoolView IDI is a high resolution, cooled fast intensified digital imaging system that provides 12 or 16-bit high-speed imaging with readout at 20MHz. The CoolView IDI features a high %QE 1392x1040 pixel CCD sensor with direct fibre-optic coupling to a special high resolution image intensifier. Photonic Science's proven fibre optic technology and the use of a very fine structure microchannel plate in the intensifier give excellent image contrast and detailed resolution even at the lowest light levels. In the Fusion mode the camera takes multiple images, which are then processed to produce a 16-bit final image. At the highest quality setting, the Fusion mode image is equivalent to that produced by a 16-bit slow scan camera. The camera can be simply switched from standard mode, where preview imaging can give a stream of fast 12-bit images, into fusion mode for highest dynamic range 16-bit imaging. The gating pulse generator (PGEN) is integrated in the camera head and allows the intensifier to be gated on and off upto 10000 times in a single image. The user-selectable PGEN operating mode permits programmed sequences of intensified gated images to be acquired during a single CCD exposure. | | |

| | | The CoolView IDI - PGEN gate/exposure sequence can be started from either a software button press or external TTL trigger pulse. A TTL output trigger is also provided, with delay or advance relative to each intensifier gate underfull software control, to trigger an event external i.e. a laser pulse. The Standard CoolView IDI - PGEN allows gating at up to 1 kHz (1ms cycle), optional fast version up to 30 kHz. The user can independently control the number of gate pulses, duration of each pulse and the off-time between pulses. The PGEN function cannot be used at the same time as Fusion mode. | | |
