Peregrine's Rad-Hard UltraCMOS™ RF IC Portfolio Expands
New Ultra-low Phase Noise PLLs, Space DSAs and Prescalers Lead the Industry
Peregrine Semiconductor's recent advancements on UltraCMOS™ silicon-on-sapphire technology have enabled significant new product performance milestones in the rad-hard product portfolio. Our S-level standard and semi-custom RF ICs are based on our innovative high-volume commercial products, designed to meet the rad-hard, low-power needs of the space industry. This product line includes Phase-Locked Loop Synthesizers with the industry's lowest phase noise; a divide-by-4 Prescaler with exceptional sensitivity that operates in the Ku-band; and a 6-bit Digital Step Attenuator with extraordinary attenuation accuracy, which is the first serial/parallel space-grade DSA in the world.
Peregrine's UltraCMOS technology is fully space qualified and resistant to Single Event Latch-Up (SEL). A superior resistance to Single Event Upset (SEU) of less than 10-9 errors per bit-day and tolerance to total dose radiation of up to 300 Krads (Si) make these devices ideal for the highly demanding rigors of space applications. For quick-turn prototyping, we offer Multi-Project Runs (MPRs) on a scheduled basis.
ULTRA-LOW PHASE NOISE
Superior Phase Noise performance make Peregrine's new Integer-N Phase Locked-Loop (PLL) Frequency Synthesizers ideal choices for applications where ultra-low phase noise is critical. Drop-in compatible with their predecessors, the PE97022 and PE97042 offer:
► Dramatically reduced spurious in Int-N mode
► 10/11 dual modulus prescaler
► Parallel, Serial or Direct Mode access
LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION
Ultra-low power utilization ensures that designs incorporating UltraCMOS RF ICs operate with the lowest power requirements. When compared to the higher-voltage GaAs, SiGe or bulk silicon devices, UltraCMOS delivers the most cost-effective solution on the market today.
MONOLITHIC INTEGRATION
The most fundamental benefit of UltraCMOS products for space applications is its inherent ability to integrate RF, mixed-signal analog, digital and EEPROM on the same device. Very high quality inductors and capacitors deliver QL>40 and QC>100 @ 2 GHz. UltraCMOS is a standard CMOS technology, leveraging all the same low-cost, high-value benefits in manufacturing yields, scalability and ease-of-use.
