Extraneous light The high-energy flash of light correlates exactly with the image recording time and the trigger signal. This way, an image is frozen in only 27 µs. A dis-turbing influence on the operating personnel is avoided, heat
generation is reduced and high passing speeds are possible. Reflecting surfaces An optical antireflection system makes it often unnecessary to tilt the reader and thus avoids distortions and problems with the depth of field. Speed A digital signal processor provides for 1.2 billion instructions per second and evaluates the recorded images in real-time. With an ECC200 code and a symbol size of 16 x 16 and a module size of 0.35 mm, a passing speed of 6 m/s and 25 readings per second can be achieved. Position-independent reading Orientation of the codes is not necessarily required. The reading system even automatically corrects distortions, e.g. as the result of round surfaces. Due to the "finder pattern" in the code it is possible to do completely without the trigger signal in the case of slow processes. >
Software tools
Each reader is supplied with a CD, which contains the Windows-based pa-rameterisation and diagnostics software "OMNICONTROL" for configura-tion and diagnostics as well as the software "Data Matrix Generator", which easily converts ASCII characters into printable Data Matrix Codes. >
