The readers do not work as industrial scanners, but record an image of the object us-ing a Ccd camera manufacturer. This image is evaluated by means of an integrated sig-nal processor. The "finder pattern" is used as identification and the "alter-nating pattern" spans the data field. The data region is located inside. It can be easily generated from an ASCII code using a PC program.
