The VBG-DN-K5-D is a Gateway for the DeviceNet. The gateway is a 100% DeviceNet-Slave (Group 2 Slave) and as a listed product can be addressed directly via the DeviceNet device manager. Through collaboration with Allen-Bradley it is ensured, that the gateway has been fully integrated into the DeviceNet professional software and can be simply connected to an existing DeviceNet network in the plug-and-play method. Communication between the AS-Interface and the DeviceNet is achieved via the professional gateway without additional programming expense. Connection of the AS-Interface master to the DeviceNet is achieved via the 5-pin CombiCon connector in accordance with the DeviceNet specification. Self-opening screw terminals are available for all other connections.

Addresses can be assigned to the AS-Interface slaves and the set configuration can be accepted using the buttons provided. 7 LEDs, which are situated on the front panel, indicate the current status of the AS-Interface network.

On the AS-Interface gateway with graphic display the commissioning of the AS-Interface circuit and a test of the connected peripherals can be completely separated from the commissioning of the DeviceNet. On site operation using the graphic display and the 4 buttons enable all functions to be represented on the display that are covered by the other AS-Interface masters via the AS-i Control Tools software.

Software

The device is supplied with the configuration data files (EDS) as well as a restricted version of the AS-i Control Tools software. The software performs the addressing, programming and monitoring of the AS-Interface network. The full version of the AS-i Control Tool is available as an accessory and features a larger program memory for AS-i Control as well as an expanded diagnostics professional monitor, which makes it possible to detect faulty telegrams of slaves. Note:

The VAZ-DN-SIM accessory is required for the AS-i Control Tool.
