VAG-IBS-KF-FBAS-Interface industrial gateway Technical data Function

General specifications

The INTERBUS is a bus system based on aring topology which can be enhanced by theAS-Interface/INTERBUS gateway. In contrast to INTERBUS, AS-Interface is topology inde-pendent and offers a very fast cycle time<5ms.The VAG-IBS-KF-FB is a coupler betweenINTERBUS and AS-Interface. Both systemsare galvanically isolated from each other.TheVAG-IBS-KF-FB is a complete INTERBUSslave that uses 16words and makes inputand output data available for communica- tions. A bus terminal, like those connecting toa peripheral bus are not required. The VAG-IBS-KF-FB offers full AS-Interfacemaster functionality. Parameters can betransmitted across one-word PCP channel tothe AS-Interface slave. Two push buttons areused for address assignment of the AS-Inter-face slaves and acceptance of the desiredconfiguration. In configuration mode, all detected AS-Interface slaves are displayedon the 2-digit LCD. In normal operation, theLCD is blank unless the master detects a faulty AS-Interface slave. There are seven LEDs on the front panelused for diagnostics, while four LEDs indi-cate communications on the INTERBUS.The KF industrial cabinet housing has the sameadvantages as the serial master of thisdesign. The gateway/AS-Interface is completely inte-grated with the INTERBUS professional software (CMD-Tools). Additional software is not required, since the AS-Interface software ACT is inte-grated and can be activated via theINTERBUS.
