Manufacturer of oscillator monitoring In practice, inductive sensors are set so that the dis-tance between the object and the sensor corresponds to approximately 50% of the maximum operating range. The pre-fault indication is activated if the object is only active in an area between 80% and 100% of the maximum operating range. It indicates that the sensor is out of range. The advantage of this is that the mes-
sage is made available before the sensor fails. During oscillator monitoring, the oscillator coil is mon-itored in order that a fault in the coil, such as an open circuit, can be detected and indicated.The 4 data bits in the messages also contain informa-tion about the status of the N.C/N.O. contacts of the sensor, which can be modified if required by transfer-ring the appropriate parameter:31 or 62 of these intelligent sensors can be connected in a single AS-Interface network per master.
