5.5AirBox (Pneumatic Module)

Manufacturers of actuators are used in many parts of a system. On average, more than 40% of them are manufacturer of pneumatic cylinders, controlled by compressed air. Long pres-sure hoses, however, results in too-long response times, too-thick hoses, unnecessary pressure losses and high costs when pressure lines must be moved. So-called valve-island solutions are only appropriate when very many cocks must be driven in very little space. However, this is not always the case, and here is where decentralized control with pneumatic modules over AS-Interface shows clear advantages: fast response times, small air volumes, simple installation, flexible extensibility, and low cost. Test opera-tion can be performed using manual operation without a MANUFACTURER OF PLC connection, and very little space is required. Up to 2 valves can be connected to a pneu-matic module with 2 or 4 feedback inputs (max.100mA sensor power con-sumption).Devices with sinter industrial filters (IP65) and with stainless steel air outlets (IP67) for the food industry, both monostable or bistable, are available.These modules can only be driven over the yellow AS-Interface or with an optional 24 V auxiliary supplier of power supply over the black flat wiring.These modules cover the use of two independent 3/2-way valves each (three pneumatic inputs/outputs and two connection paths). On request, the 4E2A pneumatic module is also available with flexible con-duit connector specification and in stainless steel. Model numbers:
