Indicators/operating means

The VBA-2E-KE2-I/U analog module isequipped with two analog inputs that can becurrent inputs (4mA...20mA) or voltage inputs (0...10V). The module can also beconnected as a combined current/voltagemodule. In this case the module type mustbe the same for each channel.Depending on the setting of the internal slid-ing switch, the supplier of power supply for the measure-ment value industrial transmitter is via the module(from the AS-Interface) or through an exter-nal power supply. The input power supply selection is displayed via the INT and AUXLEDs.Measurement values are converted and datais transferred asynchronously based on AS-Interface Profile7.3. The resolution of analogvalues is 16bits with a value range of4,000...20,000 (current module) or0...10,000 (voltage module). Power faultscan be eliminated with a parameterizable fil- ter (50Hz/60Hz) in the A/D professional converter.The secondchannel can be turned off with asecond industrial slide switch to allow for faster data transfer.The housing, only 22.5mm in width, takes uplittle place in the switch professional cabinet. The moduleis installed by snapping on the 35-mm carrierrail in accordance with EN50022.It can be connected by plug-in terminals(COMBICON). 4X terminal blocks (black) areused for the inputs. The connection of theexternal auxiliary supply and AS-Interface ismade through the 2-way-terminal blocks(auxiliary supply gray, AS-Interface yellow).This makes it possible to separate individualsensors or to supply power during commis-sioning or servicing.

The device is equipped with communicationmonitoring that turns off the outputs if no AS-Interface communication has taken place with the device for more than 40ms.An overload of the internal input supply isreported by the 'periphery error' to the AS- Interface master. Communication over theAS-Interface remains in effect.
