General specifications

The VAA-4EA-G6-ZE/E2 is an AS-Interfacecompact module with 4inputs and 4outputs.Mechanical contacts and 2- and 3-wire sen- sors can be connected to the inputs. The out-puts are sourcing electronic outputs, whichcan be loaded to 24VDC and 0.5A per out-put.Its particularly flat and narrow design makesthe IP67 compact module particularly suita-ble for applications in handling machines,industrial robots etc. To achieve the IP67 protectionclass, it features completely encapsulated electronics. This module has the furtheradvantage that it can be mounted in anyposition.The connection to the AS-Interface cable andthe external smps is established viaan M12x1 quick disconnect. Please refer tothe technical data for the pin assignments.An advantage of this connection is that aseparate base is not required. A standard cable with M12x1 quick disconnects canalso be used for addressing.The sensors/actuators are connected via M8x1 quick disconnects. The currentswitching state of each channel is indicatedby an LED, located on the module's top side.The voltages of the AS-Interface and of theexternal power supply are also indicated byan LED each. The outputs are de-energised (watchdog),whenever communication on the AS-Inter-face cable is interrupted.
