General specifications
The VBA-2E2A-G2-ZA/EA2 is an AS-Inter-face interface module with 2Inputs and2outputs. Mechanical contacts (e.g. push
buttons) as well as 2-, 3- and 4-wire sensorscan be connected to the inputs. The outputsare electronic outputs, which can be loadedto 24VDC and 1A per output.The IP67 flat module is ideal for applicationsin the field. An addressing professional jack is integratedin the module.Connection to the sensors/actuators is pro-vided via M12x1 screw connections. An
LED is provided for each channel, on the topof the module, to indicate the current switch-ing status. Similarly, an LED is provided tomonitor the AS-Interface communication andto indicate that the module has theaddress0. LEDs are also provided to indi-cate the AS-Interface voltage and the exter-nal smps. The U-G3FF mounting base is normally used
for the connection of the AS-Interface flatcable and the external 24VDC power sup-ply. The specially designed base enables the
user to connect flat rope from both sides.The device is equipped with communicationmonitoring, which switches off power to theinputs if no communication has taken placefor longer than 40ms.An overloading of the internal power supplyor of the outputs is signalled to the AS-inter-face master via the "Peripheral fault" func-tion. Communication via the AS-Interfaceremains intact.

In the case of 4-wire sensors, you must use slot IN3 for the inputs (internally bridged).
