General specifications

The VBA-4E3A-G2-ZA/EA2 is an AS-Inter-face module with 4Inputs and 3outputs.Mechanical contacts (e.g. push buttons) as well as 2-, 3- and 4-wire sensors can be con-nected to the inputs. The outputs are elec-tronic outputs, which can be collectivelyloaded with 24VDC and 2A or 1.5A peroutput.The IP67 flat module is ideal for applicationsin the field. An addressing professional jack is integratedin the module.The connection for the sensors/actuators is via M12x1 screw connections. An LED isprovided on the top of the module, for eachchannel, to indicate the current switching sta-tus. Similarly, an LED is provided to monitorthe AS-Interface communication and to indi-cate that the module has the address0.LEDs are also provided to indicate AS-Inter-face voltage and external power supply specifications.The mounting plate U-G2FF is used as standard for the connection to the AS-Inter-face flat cable and the external 24VDC sup-ply. The specially designed base enables the user to connect flat cable from both sides.The device incorporates communicationmonitoring, which switches off power to theoutputs if no communication has taken placeon the AS-Interface line for longer than40ms.An overloading of the internal input supply orof the outputs is signalled to the AS-interfacemaster via the "Peripheral fault" function.Communication via the AS-Interface remainsintact.
