The VAA-4EA-K3-ZE/E2 AS-Interface cou-pling module is a junction box module with4inputs and 4electronic outputs. Mechani-
cal contacts and 2- and 3-wire sensors canbe connected to the inputs.The design of this module makes it particu-larly suitable for operation within a junctionbox. Its housing, only 39mm thick, occupieslittle space in an installation. The VAA-4EA-K3-ZE/E2 is installed by snapping it onto the35mm DIN Rail per EN50022.Screw terminals are available, for connecting
the inputs and outputs or the AS-Interfacecable. These permit the connection of con-ductors of up to 2.5mm

Input
2 . The inputs andoutputs of the module are supplied externallywith 24VDC. The external power supplymay be directly connected to the module.
Separate terminals are available for the sup-ply of sensors/actuators, which are con-nected to the respective lines of thesensors/actuators (see connection dia-gram). A green LED indicates if the externalpower supply is available. The module itselfis supplied via the AS-Interface cable. Theoutputs can be loaded with up to 0.5A perchannel.The current switching state of each input andoutput is indicated by a yellow LED, locatedon the unit's front panel.
The power supply specification through AS-Interface isindicated by a dual LED, which is also usedto indicate the address of zero, and for com-munication monitoring.
A programming professional jack is integrated into theunit, for address configuration before or afterinstallation. It permits a connection to the
hand-held programming device.
