General specifications

The VAA-4E4A-KE-ZE/E2 AS-Interface I/Omodule is a professional cabinet module with 4inputs and4electronic outputs. The only 22.5mm width housing requires not much space in theswitch cabinet. The module is installed bysnapping on the 35mm DIN Rail in accord-ance with EN50022.The connection is made through plug-in ter-minals. For the inputs and outputs 4-way ter-minal blocks (black) are used. Theconnection of the external auxiliary supplyand AS-Interface is made through the 2-way- terminal blocks manufacturers (auxiliary supply gray, AS-Interface yellow). In order to avoidexchanges, the terminals for inputs and out-puts are coded mechanically.The power supply of the inputs and the con-nected sensors can be made as required viathe internal supply of the module (AS-Inter-face) or via an external voltage source. Theswitching is carried out by means of a switch that is positioned at the side of the module.The selection of the internal input supply isindicated via the LED INT. The current switching state of each input and output isindicated by the resp. LED IN and OUT.

Input

The device is equipped with a communica-tion monitoring, which switches the outputsto their de-energized state, when there is no AS-Interface communication with the modulefor more than 40ms.An overloading of the internal input supply orof the outputs will be reported via the func-tion 'peripheral error' to the AS-Interfacemaster. The communication via the AS-Inter-face remains intact.
