General specifications

The VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 AS-Interface cou-pling module is a industrial cabinet module with4inputs and 3electronic outputs. The only 22.5mm width housing requires not muchspace in the switch cabinet. The VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 is installed by snapping on the35mm DIN Rail in accordance withEN50022.The connection type is made through plug-interminals. 4-way terminal blocks suppliers (black) areused for the inputs. The connection of theoutputs and the external auxiliary supply and AS-Interface is made through the 2-way ter-minal blocks (outputs black, Auxiliary voltagegray and AS-Interface yellow). This allowssimple disconnection of single actuators orsupply for commissioning or service.The power supply of the inputs and the con-nected sensors can made as required inter-nal via the module (AS-Interface) or via anexternal voltage source. The switching occurs with the switch in the device. Theselection of the internal input supply is indi-cated via the LED INT. The current switching state of each in- and output is indicated by aLED on the front plate.

Note: The device is equipped with a watchdog,which switches the outputs to their de-ener-gized state, when on the AS-interface cable is no communication for more than 40ms.An overloading of the internal input supply orof the outputs will be reported via the func-tion 'peripheral error' to the AS-Interfacemaster. Communication via the AS-Interfaceremains intact.
