General specifications

The VAA-4EA-KF2-ZE/E2 AS-Interface cou-pling module is a industrial cabinet module with4inputs and 4electronic outputs. The VAA- 4EA-KF2-ZE/E2 is installed by snapping itonto the 35mm DIN Rail per EN50022, withthe integrated Power Rail.When an AS-Interface master/gateway isused in the cabinet housing, the AS-Interfacesignal is automatically transmitted via thePower Rail. The connection of the module tothe AS-Interface cable is accomplished bysimply snapping it onto the DIN Rail. The plug-in coded terminals of the inputs andoutputs allow "online" maintenance, i.e.while the system is under power. The termi-nals are coded to prevent incorrect connec-tions.If a master/gateway other than the one in thecabinet housing is used, the connection tothe AS-Interface cable is established via thesame terminals. Once the AS-Interface cable has been connected to the terminals, the AS-Interface signal is automatically transferredto the Power Rail. Power to the module and to the inputs is sup-plied by the AS-Interface cable and the out-puts are powered externally (see connectiondiagram). A programming professional jack is available foraddress configuration.

Output

The outputs are de-energised by means ofan integrated watchdog, whenever communi-cation on the AS-Interface cable is inter-rupted for more than 80ms. The watchdogcan be disabled by the parameter bit P0.If a short circuit occurs in the sensor supply,the AS-Interface master will indicate an errorand the module will disconnect from the AS-Interface.
