The VAA-4A-KF-E2 AS-Interface couplingmodule is a professional cabinet module with 4electronicoutputs. Its design, only 20mm wide, occu- pies only little space in a cabinet installation.The VAA-4E-KF-E2 is installed by snapping itonto a 35mm DIN rail according toEN50022, with the integrated Power Rail.When an AS-Interface master/gateway isused in the cabinet housing, the AS-Interfacesignal is automatically transmitted via thePower Rail. The connection of the module tothe AS-Interface cable is accomplished by simply snapping it onto the DIN rail.The plug-in coded terminals of the inputs andoutputs allow "online" maintenance, i.e.while the system is under power. The termi-nals are coded to prevent incorrect connec-tions.If a master/gateway other than the one in thecabinet housing is used, the connection tothe AS-Interface cable is established via the same terminals. Once the AS-Interface cablehas been connected to the terminals, the AS-Interface signal is automatically transferred to the Power Rail.Power to the module is supplied by the AS-Interface cable and the outputs are poweredexternally (see connection diagram). A pro-gramming professional jack is available for address con-figuration.

The outputs are de-energised via an inte-grated watchdog, whenever communicationon the AS-Interface cable is interrupted formore than 80ms. The watchdog can be disa-bled by the P0 parameter bit.
