Impressive environmental capability

The STT280 has been designed with 21st century applications in mind. TheSTT280 housing is manufactured using corrosion resistant engineered polymermoldings and has a protection rating of IP68. The tilt sensor can withstandoperating temperatures from -40°C to +125°C and has been tested to withstand shocks to 20,000g. With an EMC Immunity of 100V/m, this tilt sensor is ready for the harshest applications.

Confidence in EMC performance The new STT280 sealed tilt sensor is designed to provide reliable, fit-and-forgettilt measurement sensing within an extremely compact housing, for the most arduous operating environments. The STT280 is suitable for use in applications such as road construction equipment, cranes and booms, scissor lifts, agricultural vehicles, container handling and hydraulic lift systems.The STT280 uses solid state 3D-MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)technology to measure the sensor’s inclination relative to earth’s gravity. TheSTT280 has a measurement range of ±60°and provides a 0.5 to 4.5Vdcoutput signal over this range, with a nominal 2.5Vdc at 0°tilt. By using thistechnology, the STT280 provides distinct advantages in reliability, stabilityand compactness over fluid based, electrolytic and pendulum operatedsensors.
