What does it mean to be a Peli?
It means you care. It means you look forward to your workday. It's
quite an experience - knowing that you are a necessary part of a
growing successful organisation. Where the plastic arrives in tanker
loads of pellets and leaves as the best lights and cases the world has
ever seen. And it means choosing such a company to be an important
part of your career.
People you want to talk to.
Our highly trained Customer Service Department will go to any length to
get you information. From product specs and tracking orders to opening
new accounts, ask us a question, we guarantee an answer.
You break it, we replace it... forever™.
Our guarantee can't be stated more clearly than that. And we've been
saying this for more than 30 years. If something isn't right with your
case or torch, our Guarantee is on top of it. If it's beyond repair, you get
a brand new one, just like that. Every product that leaves our hands is
unconditionally guaranteed. Simple.
Peli means quality and ISO proves it.
You want a case or torch you can
count on. Our job is to make it
happen, and ISO Certification allows
us to keep making it happen. All of our
operators are quality conscious, striving
for continued improvement and
trained to scrap anything that is not 100% perfect. Using Six Sigma
Methodology our world class Quality Assurance team is constantly
looking for and eliminating any flaws in the process. The result: every
case, every torch is tested before it ships and is backed by our
legendary Unconditional Guarantee of Excellence.
The Bottom Line.
When you need a torch or case, you want the best. You need a Peli
product. Everything you see in this catalogue is brought to you by
Pelis, who not only build the best but also stand behind it.
The Peli Story
Peli Products came into existence as a direct result of founder Dave
Parker’s desire to develop unique and practical products for the dive
market. An avid diver since age 11 (after reading a June, 1954 issue of
Popular Science magazine, which outlined how to build a crude
S.C.U.B.A. device using a garden hose, a paint compressor, a power
lawn mower engine and an enema bag), Dave has dived some of the
most exotic spots in the world.
Through his experience he discovered that certain things he needed to
make a dive complete were simply not available. It dawned on him that
“if I need something like this, I’ll bet all the other divers do, too!”
It was from his old dirt floor garage that Peli Products was born, in the
great American tradition on a shoe string budget. The Peli Float was its
first product and patent.
After a day’s work at his advertising and industrial design business,
Dave and his wife and co-founder, Arline, a flight attendant for TWA,
would spend evenings in their garage building floats. Dave handled the
assembly side of the business. Arline boxed, billed and mailed
everything out between her regularly scheduled flights. Dave’s
homemade float was sold through mail order ads placed in magazines.
It was soon apparent that Peli Products was not going to stay a garage
operation for very long.
From the birth of the Float, Peli has developed into a multiproduct,
multi-industry company with a complete line of submersible and
waterproof safety approved torches and equipment
Protector™ cases. From a garage part time mail order operation,
Peli has become a thriving ISO 9001:2000 certified,
self-contained, fully operational moulding, manufacturing and design
corporation with over 500 employees worldwide. In addition to the
Torrance main office and manufacturing facility, we have offices in
Spain, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, China and Canada and
starting this year, Peli has manufacturing facilities in Germany.
It is true that Peli and its product lines have grown a great deal
over the past several years. Many things will continue to grow and
change except this: Peli’s Commitment to Excellence and of
course, our Legendary “You break it, we replace it forever™”
Guarantee.
