KelvinoxMX
Modular design for multiple user access
The KelvinoxMX uniquely separates the cooling platform from the experimental services. The modular desgn provides flexibility to change experimental configurations and thermodynamic performances as needed. This enables multiple users to carry out alternatively configured experiments, with a minimum of disturbance.
Dilution units The modular dilution unit of the KelvinoxMX offers two different choices of thermodynamic performance:
■ MX40 - providing 40 uW at 100 mK
and a base temperature of 25 mK
■ MX100 - providing 100 uW at 100 mK
and a base temperature of 15 mK
■ MX400 - providing 400 uW at 100 mK
and a base temperature of 7 mK
Experimental inserts The KelvinoxMX experimental inserts give the necessary flexibility and versatility for the modern laboratory. All of the experimental inserts slide into position via our novel room temperature O-ring sealing and 4.2 K indium clamp. The following experimental inserts are currently available:
■ Basc Experimental Insert - fitted with a 6 mm line-of-sight access to the inner vacuum can (IVC) space. This gives you a platform to design your own experimental services.
■ High Frequency FExperimental Insert -equipped with semi-rigid and flexible coaxial lines, this experimental insert is especially suitable for high frequency applications (<20 GHz). It is also fitted with a 24-wire loom to the mixing chamber position.
■ Rotator Experimental Insert - this insert is fitted with similar services to the High Frequency model. In addition, a rotating mechanism, Swedish rotator (manual or automated) is also supplied. The rotating mechanism, which has rotational amplitude up to 260 degrees with a rotation resolution of 0.2 degrees, is particularly suitable for the study of anisotropic phenomena.

The primary insert provides a 50 mm line-of-sight access into which a range of interchangeable experimental inserts can be fitted. 1.5 K cooling is provided by continuous flow of 4He through the patented stretched 1 K condenser, minimising microphonic noise generation. Rapid experimental turnaround times are enabled by a sliding seal that permits safe removal and replacement of the dilution refrigerator which also minimises helium loss.
