Omnitrack first Patented the high capacity recirculating BallTransfer Unit in 1954. These units were invented to solve an
application which previously used inverted castors to move heavy
steel items. The application called for instantaneous omni-
directional movement. The heavy load-carrying capacity of a
castor had to be combined with the ability for instantaneous
change of direction. Castors recognise a ‘trail’ which means
that the wheels need to align before a change of directional
motion is possible hence the OMNITRACK and AUTOTRACK
range of Ball Units were invented and Patented. This range is
still unsurpassed and available in the same configuration and
format today. With over 50 years’ experience and our on-site manufacturingwe can adapt our Ball Transfer Units to suit virtually any
