| Applicable to milling machines and machining centers. These spindles have been designed to overcome shortcomings as regards tool speed of rotation on conventional milling machines and machining centers. The performance of these sturdy machines, ideal for medium and large machining operations, is downgrated when very small diameter cutters must be used or when higt tool peripheral speeds are required (for example when machining light alloys). Just by a very simple operation (the time required is the same as that to install a normal toolholder) we can obtain a radical transformation of the production capability of the conventional machine. Furthemore, as these are high frequency spindles, there are no vibrations due to the gearwork in moviment of the machine; this assures faithful reproduction of the original characteristics of the machine to the ascribed specifically to the absence of heating. High precision construction means that these spindles can also carry out grinding operations, for example in the case of particular shapes with very tight tolerance (e.g. cams, dies, etc.). Very complicated profiles can be ground using or CBN wheels, wich do not require diamond-dressing, sure of obtaining perfect shape and excellent surface finish and thereby avoiding manual adjustment.
