Omega Air pressure vessels TPV, TPH Storing of compressed air The size of the pressure vessel is defi ned according to the quantity of the supplied air from the compressor on which is connected, control system and consumption of compressed air. Storing of compressed air Compressed air produced by a compressor is stored in a pressurized container. Needs for the compressed air can be covered without the compressor operating. In the meantime, it is in standby mode and does not consume electricity. Pressure vessel capacity covers momentarily and peak consumptions of compressed air. Thatswhy compressed air motor is not put in operating so often, which results in lower operating costs. Pulsating supply of compressed air Due to its way of operation, the piston compressors are causing pulsating volume fl ow of compressed air. This mode of operation harms the diff erent devices that are connected to such system. For example, in particular the process control and measuring equipment at such a course are not working properly. Pressure vessel regulates this fl uctuations and calms it. There are no such problems in screw compressors application, because there is a constant supply of compressed air. The collection of condensate Compression leads to condensation of water in the air. This water usually enters with a stream of air in the pressure vessel, where the heat, which was introduced into the system at compression, is passing to the surrounding area. Cooling of the pressure vessel results in the large amounts of condensate which generates on its walls. Condensate is collected at the bottom of the container, where it has to be drained out of the system. Pressure vessels, which are drained irregular, are subject to corrosion caused by condensate. The rust protection can be galvanic or with epoxy coating. Final inspection and puting into the service Pressure vessels are loaded from internal pressure, so they are dangerous for its operation. Their manufacture, testing, installation and operation must be carried out in accordance with the Pressure equipment directive. The content of the directive changes, so it is necessary to constantly follow the content. Documentation of Pressure Vessels should be carefully kept. Pressure vessel must always bear the inscription plate with the content required by the PED 97/23.
