When worn with a Arc Faceshield with a minimum arc rating of 8, the sockhood and the faceshield provide all around head protection and together they meet NFPA 70E Hazard Risk Category 2* (HRC2*). NFPA 70E Article 130.7(C)(1) requires that an employee working within the Flash Protection Boundary wears protective clothing and other personal protective equipment. The FR Rayon PBI knit fabric provides excellent stretch to comfortably fit the user’s head. When worn with a balaclava sockhood, the shield provides all around head protection and meets NFPA 70E Hazard Risk Category 2* (HRC2*). Every lineman, electrical contractor, industrial electrician and thermographer, working in the proximity of an energized circuit, is at risk of serious or even fatal burns.
