The NYLOK TORQ-PATCH LOCK-NUTS is the original self-locking patch, developed by Nylok engineers more than 30 years ago.

Nylok developed a patented process of permanently bonding a nylon patch to the threads of a hex nut to make it self-locking, adjustable and reusable. It allowed Nylok customers to use shorter bolts, creating lighter assemblies. It also increased assembly efficiency, since hex nuts can be assembled from either side.

Thanks to this kind of innyvation, we continue to be the number one holder of patents for innovative fastener tech­nology.

The NYLOK® BLUE® TORQ-PATCH® LOCK-NUT'S self-locking element is permanently spray bonded onto the threads of virtually any type nut. When mating threads are engaged, the tough, resilient blue nylon patch element is compressed and a counterforce is created to establish a much stronger metal-to-metal contact and positive resis­tance to vibration and loosening.

Hex nuts as small as #10 (M5) can be processed. And NYLOK BLUE TORQ-PATCH self-locking elements can be applied with equal effectiveness to large diameter nuts.
