When a customer asked for an affordable, efficient way of protecting fastener threads from weld spatter and electro-deposited paints, Nylok engineers answered with NYCOTE.

The NYCOTE coating is a revolutionary masking process in which a white non-conductive 98% pure Teflon® PFA pow­der is applied to fasteners to form a protective coating. The coating prevents the adhesion of electrodeposited paints, primers and coatings. NYCOTE also protects against weld spatter, adds lubricity to fasteners and reduces torque vs. tension scatter.

Today, NYCOTE is widely used in industries such as agricul­tural, automotive, appliance, electronics, HVAC, machinery, marine, outdoor power equipment, recreation equipment and telecommunications manufacturing.
