V36
grinding wheels are ideal for precision grinding because the bonds modulus of elasticity is much lower than normal vitrified wheels. This means that the bond bridge is thinner than normal vitrified bonding, but the grain retention is much higher. Therefore, the bond bridge has better bending strength before physically breaking and releasing the grain. The porosity is also greater than a normal vitrified bond, thus enabling it to retain greater amounts of lubricant. It becomes the grinding wheel of choice where part burning is concerned. And, operators have noticed that during set-up, it is easier to see part contact with the red bond material than the normal white. >
