PiloTREK 4-wire antenna radar transmitters are used for continuous level measurement in the raw material and clinker bunkers at the Hejocsaba cement plant. Within the technological system, transportation is realized via a rubber conveyor belt. During silo filling a filling cone with varying angles of repose is formed, while during emptying, an emptying cone with varying negative angles of repose is formed. The shape of the cone is highly affected by product build-up sticking to the walls. | | signal spectrum detected and stored during an initial, empty-tank measurement. | | | The protection of the bunkers against over-filling is done also using NIVELCO's cable-extended NIVOCONT vibrating rod, and NIVOROTA rotary paddle level switches. Every equipment and process of the cement construction can be controlled from the central control room without the need of field operating personnel. Signals of the 9 level transmitters and 7 level switches are transmitted to the central control room. The 4-20 mA analog signals of the gauges are converted to lower and upper level switching signals by a PLC, while the PC displays them graphically for the dispatcher. A timely information about the state of the bunkers allows for a continuous production strategy as well as an efficient material management. The reliable functioning of the system - as acknowledged by the buyer - proves that PiloTREK microwave radar level transmitters can be used to solve "problematic" measuring tasks. | | |

| | | NIVELCO Process control Co. produces and markets the microwave radar level transmitters within the confines of the cooperation contract agreement with the Franco-German KROHNE. The choice of instruments can be done from a large variety of radar level transmitters ranging from TDR guided pulse radar instruments to even 1mm accuracy, frequency-modulated, noncontact radar units. The microwave radar transmitters are designed to measure level of fluid and solid mediums in both normal and hazardous environments. A characteristic of the applicability of these instruments is the wide temperature and pressure range. They can also be used for applications with foam, stickiness, intensive dust, and double inlet filling or emptying, which pose problems to units working based on other measuring principles. After previous unsuccessful attempts at level measurement at the Hejocsaba plant of HOLCIM Hungéria Rt. a tender was called for instrumentation using microwave radar level transmitters. | | |

The robust PiloTREK 4-wire level transmitter is very suitable for measuring tasks in such unfavorable conditions. After choosing the right instrument the main task was assigning locations for each measuring post.
