Specific heat of molybdenum
The specific heat of molybdenumwas measured three times between-100°C and 300°C using the newlow-temperature
industrial furnace of the DSC
404 F1 Pegasus >
® . The three results(colored lines) show only slightscattering in the range of 2%.Additionally shown are literature
values for pure molybdenum (blackline) between room temperature and300°C. The differences between themeasurement results and the litera-ture values are generally less than2%. This proves the excellentspecific heat performance of the
system in the low-temperaturerange. >
Characterization of a kaolin-quartz mixture
Temperature-modulated DSC (TM-DSC) is a tool generally employedfor low-temperature applications onpolymers. The DSC 404 F1 Pegasus >
® is the first DSC capable of doingtemperature modulation at hightemperatures. Presented here aremeasurement results for a kaolin-
quartz mixture. The irreversible de-hydration and phase changes of thekaolin were detected in the non-reversing part of the DSC result. The quartz transition at 573°C was
detected in the reversing part of theDSC curve. (This feature is notavailable in North America andJapan.) >
