GIII-C EX
The GIII-C EX reader is a RFID
reader, especially suited for
identification in hazardous
environments that typically exist in
the chemical and petrochemical
industry where security and
reliability are essential
requirements. Invulnerability to
environmental disturbances is
warranted due to the reader s ATEX
approved design.
Key benefits
ATEX approved housing
Excellent performance
Integrated antenna
Integrated sensor input & relay
output
Integrated RS232 interface
Open industry interfaces
Identification of NEDAP & EM
transponders
The GIII-C EX operates only from a 24
VDC power supply and has an intrinsicly
safe housing suited for mounting in EX
zones.
ATEX approved housing
The reader has an ATEX approved
housing suitable for application in
explosive zone such as the chemical
and petrochemical industry. The GIII-C
EX s design is in accordance with the
CE and EMC and ATEX regulations.
Excellent performance
The GIII-C EX is characterised by an
excellent reading performance in
combination with the integrated DC 130
antenna.
Integrated I/O for sensor input and
relay output
Participation in several standardised
industrial sensor and actor networks is
one of the reader s unique features. The
sensor input (also called No-read input)
is available to indicate a no-read
situation. This input can also be applied
for general purposes or event
The GIII-C EX has a relay output and an
optocoupler output. These outputs are
activated when a valid tag is
identified.The outputs are deactivated
when no tag is identified and the relay
time has elapsed. Relay hold times can
be set. Optional the free programmable
cross table feature for output control is
supported. In this way the reader can
operate stand-alone and on-line
communication with the host system is
not required.
Integrated RS232 interface and
optional industry interfaces
Communication to the host system e.g.
a PC or PLC can be accomplished by all
common interfaces. Standard the
RS232 interface is integrated for host
communication. Optional a
communication board can be placed to
support other interfaces like RS422,
Profibus DP, TCP/IP (Ethernet) and
Multidrop. In a Multidrop Master/Slave
network up to 15 GIII-C EX slaves can
be connected. As slave the GIII-C (EX)
can be applied, however as master a
Supergis III is required.
Identification
The GIII-C EX is able to identify all 120
kHz NEDAP and 125 kHz EM 4102 based
or compatible transponders, offering you
a freedom in tag selection, in combination
with the reliability of the Nedap reader
and antenna equipment.
