EW120
The EW120 is a connection unit for
the application of a single-coil
detection antenna in combination
with Nedap RFID readers.
Key features
Connection of single-coil
detection antennas
Internal tuning
IP65 housing
Single-coil antennas often provide a
good solution for situations where
standard detection antennas cannot be
applied and antennas need to be
shaped to suit the specific application.
Additionally the EW 120 can also be
used when invisibly integrated
antennas are required
Connection of single-coil detection
antennas
Various types of single-coil antennas
can be established. It is often possible
to convert metal constructions in the
form of special fittings for use as a
detection antenna. In this way the
existing lay-out is left unchanged but
fitted with detection.
Integrated detection antennas
The EW120 enables integration of your
detection antenna. The developed
single-coil antenna acts as a detection
antenna for the 120 kHz Nedap RFID
transponders and 125 kHz EM 4102
based or compatible transponders.
Internal tuning
The EW120 enables each single-coil
antenna to be tuned. An identification
LED indicates the optimal tuning.
IP65 housing
The EW120's housing complies with an
IP65 protection class. Single-coil
antennas can also be used in extreme
conditions such as very damp rooms.
Mounting
The EW120 is usually installed out of
sight. To obtain the best detection
results, it is important to keep the
distance between the EW120 and the
single-coil antenna as short as
possible. The distance between the
EW120 and the Nedap RFID reader
can be up to 50 meters [54.7 yds].
Applications
The EW120 can be applied in projects
where customised antenna solutions
are required in combination with
reliable identification of the NEDAP
readers. For more information on
application, see Application Note
single-coil antennas.
