16 DeviceNet™ • Extends the allowable trunk or drop line length of a DeviceNet system • Allows “star” and other topologies to be constructed while using the DeviceNet protocol • Isolates electrically “noisy” sections of the bus line from other bus line sections Bus Extenders The BradConnectivityTM Bus Extender allows you to expand the functionality of your network in many ways. The bus extender allows you to extend the cable length of the trunk or drop line effectively multiplying the allowed cable length. In addition, the extender allows you to create a star topology of your DeviceNet layout, creating versatility in applications where many long drop lengths may be required. Finally, sections of the network can be isolated from electrically “noisy” devices such as variable frequency drives or DC switching power supplies.
