| | | WELD SENTRY® 2 AND BUILT-IN SENTRY The Weld Sentry 2 and Built-in Sentry are precision measuring instruments which monitor and provide statistical process control (SPC) data for the resistance welding process. The Weld Sentry 2 (shown right) is compatible with all types of resistance spot welders including Direct Energy (AC), Stored Energy (CD), High Frequency inverter (HF), and Constant Voltage (DC) industrial power supplies. The Built-in Sentry is available as an option on many Unitek Peco power supplies. Both Sentry models accurately measure the weld voltage and current, compare the measurements to user set limits, and provide SPC calculations. Measurements are made in realtime and calculated in engineering units, including Watt-Seconds, Volt-Seconds, and RMS Amps. Graphical waveforms for volts, amps, ohms, watts, and amps minus voits can be viewed on the LCD screen or transferred to a printer. Weld data is automatically stored in memory for up to 20,000 individual results and used for SPC purposes. Calculations are made for Average, Standard Deviation, Minimum/Maximum values, and Control Limits Graphical SPC data is generated in the form of Run Charts, Histograms, and X bar or R charts. Using RS-232 communications, individual weld results can be downloaded to a host computer in real time. The RS-435/422 multi-drop protocol allows multiple units to transmit data to a single PC.
