Nanovea Scratch Tester Software The Nanovea Scratch Tester Software is a complete software package for controlling test parameters such as:speed, loading rate and scratch length as well as analyzing test results. Real time display of Acoustic Emission, FrictionalForce versus Load (or Displacement) Images incorporated directly into the scratch file foreasy reference On-line correlation between measured data andoptical observation Associated load automatically indicated on the picturefor easy identification Multi-pass scratch testing for the characterization ofthe wear properties of the coating Constant and progressive loads Control of all the parameters including speed, loadingrate and scratch length Data export in ASCII format Windows XP Nanovea Series Micro Hardness Module A high precision capacitive sensor can be added to the Nanovea Micro Scratch Tester toallow full instrumented indentation to be performed using the same instrument; ideal for hardness testing of thicker coatings and bulk materials.The Nanovea Micro Hardness Module works on the following principle: An indenter tip,normal to the sample surface, with a known geometry, is driven into the sample by applying an increasing load up to a preset value. The load is then gradually decreased until partial or complete relaxation of the sample has occurred.The load and displacement are recorded continuously throughout this process to produce a load displacement curvefrom which mechanical properties such as: hardness, Young’s modulus, stress-strain studies, time dependent creep mea- surement, fracture toughness, or plastic and elastic energy of the sample material can be calculated. IBIS Instrumented Indentation Analysis software The IBIS indentation software offers the traditionalOliver & Pharr method of analysis with a powerful nonlin- ear solver for fitting the unloading curve (effective indenter shape).
